Citizens of Vietnam are required to apply for a visa to enter Switzerland. Foreign nationals residing in Vietnam may contact the Embassy to find out whether they need a visa to travel to Switzerland.

• Visa Form: The form is free and can be collected from the visa counters/ reception of the Embassy in Hanoi or the Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC). You can also download the visa application on our website. 
• Living and Working in Switzerland: Information regarding Entry, Stay, Permits, Labour Market etc. in Switzerland is available on the website of the Federal Office of Migration.  
• Residence in Liechtenstein: To find out the requirements and procedure, applicants with close family ties should contact: The Fremdenpolizei des Fuerstentums Liechtenstein, FL-9490 VADUZ or visit the Government e-portal.

Determine the type of visa you need. There are four different types:

• Visitor Visa
• Business Visa
• Student Visa
• Family Reunion
• Visa for visitors of a commercial fair

IMPORTANT: Please note that the visa application must be submitted to the Swiss Representation responsible for your place of residence. If you live in the southern provinces of Vietnam, you may contact the Consulate General in HCMC; if you live rather in the north, you should contact the Embassy in Hanoi. A visa application from people not residing in Vietnam may be turned down.
