Living in Egypt
If you are a Swiss citizen living in Egypt, we urge you to register with the Embassy. Send us an e-mail or contact us by phone, mail or in person. Registering with the Embassy is mandatory for Swiss citizens living abroad for more than 12 months.
If your country of residence is Egypt, you may come to the Embassy on any working day between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. You should bring along your Swiss Passport and Identity Card (if any) as well as the Swiss Passports and Identity Cards of the members of your family. If you are detaining a Military Leave Authorisation ("Auslandurlaub/Congé pour l'étranger/Congedo per l'estero"), you should bring that along too.
If you cannot come to the Embassy personally, you should inform the Embassy of your arrival in the country in writing, by e-mail or by phone indicating your exact address as well as your telephone, fax and mobile phone numbers and, if available, your e-mail address. The necessary forms and documentation will then be forwarded to you. After that, please bring or send the completed forms, together with the corresponding original Identity Card(s) or Passport(s), to the Embassy. Your documents will be returned to you as soon as possible.
In order to speed up the registration process, you may download the appropriate application, print it out and fill it in by hand. Or more conveniently, fill it in directly on your screen and print it out afterwards. In the latter case don't forget to sign it before submitting it.
